Travelling Sprinkler

colour, editorial, illustration, process
New piece for the Financial Times Book review section. Illustrating Nicholson Baker’s new publication Travelling Sprinklers, it tells the story of a failing poet called Chowder. Disappointed by middle-aged life he invests his attention to a travelling sprinkler he has grown emotionally attachment to after a break up with his girlfriend.
The article emphasised the mundanity of Chowder’s life and Baker’s writing style reflecting that. I tried to use colours that echoed this feeling, a quieter and more subtle palette than my usual choice.

Fuelled by the energy of some extremely chocolatey cookies, I’ve just finished hand writing 200 mail outs that have been carefully designed, printed and pieced together for all the art directors I admire across the globe. Here are the beauties ready to be sent out including an A3 poster I’ve made specifically for such an occasion, spread the word people! Can’t wait to work for you all!

Harmful pesticide use in vineyards

colour, editorial, illustration
New artwork for French quarterly XXI, on the damaging use of pesticides in French vineyards. Loved working on such a well researched article, it’s a beautifully designed magazine and was great to contribute to it.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Chinese New Year kickstarts the largest annual human migration across the world. Known as chunyun in Chinese, about 3.6 billion people travel across China during this time to reunite with their families, here is my take on this momentous occasion!

It’s all new

illustration, shop

New website. New shop. New studio. NEW WORK.

New news.

I’ve revamped my website with a fresh look, and set up an online store along the way. I have also moved to a wonderful studio in Haggerston. Frederick Studios was formerly a clothes factory making Burberry garments amongst others, and now houses a bunch of creatives, including me!

More work coming soon, meanwhile here is a snap of a recent commission for Das Magazin, a weekend supplement to Swiss newspaper Tages Anzeiger. The article explores the recent issues concerning the Brazil protests.

Thanks to Frauke Schnoor for this piece.

Illustrative Festival revealed

exhibition, illustration

Super delayed photos coming your way of Illustrative Festival I recently exhibited at in Berlin. The turn out was great and it was wonderful displaying my work alongside other talented artists from across the globe. Plus I used it as a great excuse to work and experience summer in Berlin, thanks also to a generous friend and his wonderfully equipped balcony-turned-studio.
